FT4232H-56Q is the fifth-generation USB 2.0 high-speed multi-protocol serial interface chip from FTDI, featuring a 56-pin VQFN package. This chip provides 4 independently configurable UART channels, among which channels A and B can be configured as a multi-protocol synchronous serial engine (MPSSE), supporting various synchronous serial protocols such as analog JTAG, SPI, I2C, bit operations, etc.
This chip fully complies with the USB 2.0 high-speed specification (480Mbps). The chip internally fully processes the USB protocol and can complete the conversion from USB to serial port without the need for specific firmware programming. Each UART channel supports an independent baud rate generator, with the maximum baud rate reaching up to 12Mbaud. It supports multiple interface standards such as RS232/RS422/RS485, and provides hardware and X-On/X-Off software handshake functions.
This chip is highly integrated, featuring a 1.8V LDO voltage regulator, power-on reset circuit (POR), and a clock frequency multiplier PLL (from 12MHz to 480MHz). It supports various configurations such as USB bus power supply, self-powered, and high-power bus power supply. The operating voltage is 3.3V and it supports an industrial-grade temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
