This is a random-phase AC-input phototriac driver. Its core function is to provide electrical isolation between a low-voltage control circuit and a high-voltage AC load, and to drive an external bidirectional triac to turn on at any point in the AC waveform cycle, enabling switching or power control of the AC mains.
